Some experienced jazz musicians see "Blue Bossa" as a beginner's piece that in their opinionis played too often. But: The piece has a fantastically logical chord progression that everyone can learn a lot from. My new theme "Blue But Different" is a melody that is very reminiscent of the original head, but brings some fresh ideas into play. For the chord accompaniment, I will show you the Bossa Nova rhythm in several variations. You will also get explanations of the chords in different voicings, so that you can incorporate a lot of variation into your version. You need arpeggios for improvisation, they are the skeleton of the melodies and here you learn arpeggios in two important positions on the fingerboard. The 30 minute explanatory video of my improvised solo on "Blue Bossa" contains so much information that you can benefit from it for a very long time. Take your time, it's worth it!

Lesson 8Explanation and analysis of the solo - part 1
Duration: min
In the explanation of the solo, which lasts over 30 minutes in total, you will find all the information such as the harmonic analysis, rhythmic explanations, fingering and playing tips. The thoughts you can have about it cannot be formed while improvising, time is too short for that when playing. But analysis helps you to recognize the possibilities available and to get new sounds into your ears. It's all about sounds. The more sounds you can hear, the more you will want to play them. For years I followed in the footsteps of jazz masters like Joe Pass, George Benson and Pat Metheny and have replayed and analyzed many of their solos. That's why I can say from experience that replaying is a very good way to learn the language of Jazz!
